This Privacy Policy explains how G.SOFRONIOU WEBZONE-CY LTD (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with the mobile application Συναξάριον – Ορθόδοξη Πίστη (“the App”).

We respect the privacy of our users and have designed the App to operate with minimal collection of personal information.

The App does not require user registration or the creation of an account.

Removing the App may also remove locally stored App data, subject to the operating system’s backup and restoration functionality.

3. Location and Map Functionality

The App may display geographical information, coordinates, maps, or directions relating to monasteries, churches, shrines, pilgrimage destinations, and other sacred places.

Where the user chooses to open directions or map functionality, the App may transfer the destination coordinates or address to a third-party mapping application or service installed on the device.

Such third-party services may independently process information such as the user’s location, IP address, device information, or search activity according to their own privacy policies.

The App does not require continuous background location tracking and does not use location information to determine or infer a user’s religious beliefs.

The App contains informational and historical material concerning Orthodox Saints, churches, monasteries, sacred places, icons, religious heritage, and related subjects.

To provide this information, the App may reference, retrieve, display, or provide attribution to material originating from third-party sources, including:

Cultural and heritage organisations
Museums, archives, libraries, and academic sources
UNESCO and similar cultural organisations
Wikimedia Commons and other appropriately licensed media repositories

Where appropriate, the App may display the source, author, photographer, institution, copyright information, licence, or attribution associated with such material.

Opening a source or external reference may take the user outside the App to a third-party website. Once the user accesses a third-party service, its own privacy policy and terms apply.

5. Images and Third-Party Media

Some photographs, icons, artwork, illustrations, and other media displayed within the App may originate from third-party sources.

We aim to use media that is:

In the public domain;
Available under an appropriate Creative Commons or other reusable licence;
Provided by an official or authorised source with suitable permission; or
Otherwise legally permitted for use.

Where a licence requires attribution, the App may provide information such as the creator’s name, source, licence, and/or relevant attribution.

Third-party images remain subject to the rights and licence conditions of their respective copyright holders.

The presence of an image or reference in the App does not imply that G.SOFRONIOU WEBZONE-CY LTD owns the underlying third-party content.

7. Internet Access

Although much of the App may operate using locally stored information, an internet connection may be required for certain functionality, including loading externally hosted images, opening source material, accessing external websites, or launching online mapping services.

When content is requested directly from a third-party server, that provider may automatically receive technical information normally associated with an internet request, such as the user’s IP address, browser or application information, and request details.

Such processing is controlled by the relevant third-party provider and is subject to its privacy policy.

8. Analytics, Advertising and Tracking

The App does not intentionally use personal information for behavioural advertising.

If the current version of the App does not contain analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking technologies, G.SOFRONIOU WEBZONE-CY LTD does not independently track users across third-party applications or websites for advertising purposes.

Should analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or similar third-party technologies be introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated where required.

9. Purchases

If the App is purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play, payment processing is handled by the applicable store provider.

We do not directly receive or store users’ full payment card or banking details.

Transactions made through those platforms are also subject to the respective platform’s privacy policies and terms.

10. Children’s Privacy

The App provides informational and educational content concerning Orthodox Christianity and cultural heritage.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App.

Because the App does not require an account and is designed to avoid collecting personal information, users are not required to provide their age, name, email address, or other identifying information to access its core content.

11. Data Sharing

Because we do not intentionally collect personal information through the core functionality of the App, we do not sell users’ personal information.

We do not sell personal data to advertisers or data brokers.

Information may nevertheless be processed independently by third-party services when a user chooses to access those services, such as an external website or mapping provider.

12. Religious Information

The App contains Orthodox Christian religious content. A user’s decision to view a Saint, monastery, church, icon, feast, or other religious material is not used by G.SOFRONIOU WEBZONE-CY LTD to create a profile concerning the user’s religious beliefs.

We do not intentionally collect or maintain databases identifying users according to religious belief or affiliation.

13. Accuracy and Informational Content

We make reasonable efforts to use reliable ecclesiastical, historical, governmental, cultural, and other reputable sources.

However, information concerning historical events, traditions, feast dates, names, locations, relics, monuments, or other religious and historical matters may vary between sources or traditions.

The App is provided for informational, educational, cultural, and devotional reference purposes and should not be considered an official publication of any Orthodox Church, monastery, diocese, government authority, or other institution unless explicitly stated.

14. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to design the App in a manner that minimises unnecessary collection and transmission of user information.

No electronic system or third-party internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should therefore exercise appropriate caution when following external links or using third-party services.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, its functionality, applicable legal requirements, or third-party services change.

Any updated version will display a revised “Last Updated” date.

Users are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
